  6. PROGRAM DESCRIPTIONS...

  8. CD2CD.EXE
  9.   Copies a single-track data CD from any SCSI based CDROM drive
  10.   directly to the CD recorder. The reader must be faster than the
  11.   recorder (i.e. 4X reader when recording at 2X, or a 2X reader
  12.   when recording at 1X).
  13.  
  14. CD2FILE.EXE and FILE2CD.EXE
  15.   Copies a CD from any SCSI based CDROM drive to an "image" file
  16.   on disk. This file can then be used by FILE2CD to write the image
  17.   to the CD recorder. These two programs will allow someone who
  18.   doesn't have a SCSI CDROM drive on their system to make copies of
  19.   CDs using only their CD recorder for both reading the source disc
  20.   and writing the new disc. FILE2CD can also be used to make ISO9660
  21.   discs if you already have a program that can build ISO image files.
  22.   You must use the /POSTGAP switch so that the proper track postgap
  23.   is written to the disc.

  25. DISK2CD.EXE
  26.   Copies a SCSI harddrive block-by-block to the CD recorder. This
  27.   program can be used to make native VMS and Unix CDs from the PC.
  28.   The harddrive cannot be larger than the capacity of a CDROM (650Mb).
  29.   NOTE: DOS and NT CDROMs must be in ISO9660 format, so making an
  30.   image copy of a PC disk won't work.

  32. CDTOOLS.EXE
  33.    This program is a collection of miscellaneous CDROM/CD-R tools
  34.    with the following functions...
  35.      - Display a disc's table-of-contents.
  36.      - Erase a disc (CD-RW only).
  37.      - Finalize a session/disc.
  38.      - Load a disc (tray models only).
  39.      - Eject a disc.
  40.

  47. If you are using the 32-bit version of this software under Windows 95,
  48. then you must make sure that the following settings are enabled/disabled
  49. for all CDROM readers and recorders on your system...
  50.  
  51.   1) Open the "Control Panel" folder and click on the "System" icon.
  52.  
  53.   2) Select the "Device Manager" tab.
  54.  
  55.   3) Click on the CDROM icon
  56.  
  57.   4) For each CDROM device in the list...
  58.        Select the device.
  59.        Select the "Settings" tab.
  60.        Disable the "Auto Insert Notification" option.
  61.        Enable the "Disconnect" option.
  62.        Enable the "Sync Data Transfer" option. 
  63.        Click on "OK"

  65. If you have an Adaptec SCSI card and are unable to run any of the 
  66. programs under Windows 95/NT, then download and install the latest
  67. drivers from Adaptec's FTP site...

  80. NOTES:
  81.  
  82.   - You can display the command line switches for any of these
  83.     programs by typing "program-name /?". There must be at least
  84.     one space between each command line argument or switch.
  85.     
  86.   - These programs will only work on a DOS based system with an
  87.     ASPI manager installed.
  88.  
  89.   - These programs will only copy single-track data CDs (with CDROM
  90.     Mode-1 type sectors). They will *not* copy audio, CDROM-XA, CD-I,
  91.     mixed-mode, or any type of multi-session disc. If you are not sure
  92.     if your CD has more than one track, use CDTOOLS.EXE to display the
  93.     table-of-contents.
  94.   
  95.   - When using CD2CD/FILE2CD/DISK2CD on any of the Pinnacle, JVC, or
  96.     TEAC recorders, do *not* use the /NOFINALIZE option. This option
  97.     is not supported and will result in a disc that cannot be finalized
  98.     at a later date.
  99.  
  100.   - All of the programs that write to the recorder have a /TEST option
  101.     that will put the recorder into "write emulation" mode. Please make
  102.     use of this switch when you are trying these programs for the first
  103.     time or are copying a disc that might have a format that these
  104.     programs don't support.

  106.   - You must have a blank CD-R disc in the recorder even when using
  107.     the "write emulation" mode.
  108.  
  109.   - If you record a CD in "write emulation" mode, you usually have to
  110.     eject the disc from the recorder and re-insert it before you
  111.     can write the disc for real.
